Super Smash Flash is a free to play game that based on Super Smash Bros. Melee. Unlike most traditional 2D fighting games, each character's health is measured by a damage percentage counter.
As the character is attacked, damage is accumulated and the percent value increases. The higher the percentage, the weaker the character is, and the easier it is for them to be KO'd off the stage.

Similar to super smash flash 2, this game has the same controls keys. There is a total of 28 playable characters (30 if double characters are counted) whose 13 are starter and 15 are unlockable. If you have ever played Super Smash Flash 2, you will find this first version has some different characters such as Mewtwo (from Pokemon), Knuckles (from Sonic), Cloud (from Final Fantasy), Inu Yasha (from Inu Yasha manga), Mr. Incredibles (from The Incredibles), Blade (fanmade characters)... and you have to unlock to play more characters.
